Sarabande Singing School  and The Singing School Bushey

run a rolling programme of workshops designed to enhance the singer's training.

All workshops cost £40 to attend,  are open to a maximum of 6 students per session

and usually last between 2 - 3 hours.


Pop and Musical Theatre Workshop – led by Sarah Hay 

 This workshop looks at the demands of singing pop, rock and musical theatre. For example, how to make your best sounds safely, which muscles to use, using vocal exercises designed specifically for pop singers, learning how to belt plus some group

and individual singing to bring out your best sounds.

The next workshop is on Sunday 20th February 2011   10am – 12.30pm


Acting For Singers –led by Mark Rice-Oxley 

 This is an extremely popular workshop where professional actor Mark Rice-Oxley gives students an insight into the demands of creating character with a piece of music. By preparing specific "actions" and deciding who your character is, who your audience is and why you are singing the music we can learn so much more about how to tell the story. These workshops run once or twice a term.

The next workshop is Saturday 27th November 2010.

Vocal Technique Workshop - led by Julie Gray 

 Having a great technique is key to being a great singer. This workshop focuses on intensive technical work and the physical demands of singing providing individual and group tuition on areas such as breathing, posture, primal sound and looking at and prescribing exercises and ways forward for individual technical difficulties. A workshop on how to sing better!! 

 

Overcoming Performance Anxiety - The Confident Performer - led by Julie Gray

This is a gem of a workshop! For anyone who has experienced terror at the thought of performing or who is an experienced performer who never seems to do their best. This workshop provides strategies to help you give that best performance using NLP psychological techniques and confidence coaching. This will involve group discussions and then individual performances.
